Question: Why are computers so unreliable?

Answer:

Most major manufacturers would not knowingly design(choose components) that create problems for their users. There are exceptions.

Every device, device driver and sofware application installed on a computer, changes not only how the machine runs but also how the operating system functions and how other applications view the system which has been changed.

The short answer is then, --the more a configuration changes, the more likelihood that conflicts created by these changes will cause a computer crash or failure.
